Update: 6 April, 2021

 

Following the release of the government’s roadmap out of COVID-19 restrictions, we were optimistic that we would be able to hold the 2021 Spitfire Scramble.

 

In line with the dates set out, an event of our size and nature would be permissible on our chosen event dates.

 

However, a significant section of our course runs through Forestry England land. We have now learned this body will not be accepting applications for events taking place any earlier than September this year, due to concerns over numbers of people using the space as restrictions ease.

 

We are disappointed with the decision but understand the reasons and, regrettably, do not see a way we can host the event without access to this land.

 

The 2022 Spitfire Scramble will take place on 16 & 17 July.

 

We will now offer all registered participants two options:

 

  1. Automatic deferral to our 2022 event. You do not need to do anything and we will retain your entry within the entry platform with revised 2022 dates. We will inform you when this has been done. (If you had already deferred your place from 2019 or 2020 to 2021, we will still honour this place in 2022.)
     

  2. Request a refund by emailing info@spitfirescramble.co.uk. The latest date by which we will process refund requests is 1 June 2021.
    Please note that refunds will be minus the service fee. 

 

We know how much you have missed the Scramble – and in-person running events in general – and we were so excited at the prospect of hosting you all again this year.

 

We feel sure that the world will be in a much better place next summer and hope you will all be back with your tents and your trainers, ready to Scramble once again.
